How it works
I took MyCopernic Go back to the test to see how this lucky.
After installing and loading MyCopernic connector on my desktop at home, I opened the site MyCopernic on my IPod Touch and began to look for files.
I tried MyCopernic on the move with Windows Desktop Search. Before I could use the service, I had to make sure that Windows Search is indexing the files that I wanted to find.
In my Ipod Touch, I could find all the files, or narrow it down to such categories as e-mail, music or pictures. Each category offered me advanced search options. For email, I could connect to the topic and the names of the sender and recipient. For music, I can enter the song title, artist and album name.
MyCopernic the way, also searched the contents of my files. I was looking for a few lines of text that are not part of any file, but were in some of the content files and service and found them all.
Preview mode worked surprisingly well. I can view the contents of documents Word, Excel spreadsheets and PDF files. Unformatted They were, of course, but the data is read. I could view files, JPG, GIF and other images. I could even grab URL-addresses in Internet Explorer Favorites, and other web pages. Preview will not play music or video, though, for what you need to download the files to a remote device.
MyCopernic in the way we found all the files I threw at him, so that the service is performed well. The main drawback for me: I do not usually leave my desk is included when I leave the house, so that the service does not help me in this event.
And, of course, there are other applications I use to connect to the computer remotely. But I liked how I could easily and quickly find files on the desktop of my house of not more than IPod Touch.
