iPhone and IPod Touch games have a lot going for them. Titles cheaper, they offer a tilt functionality, and graphics is better than what Nintendo DS can display. All that aside, it is difficult to consider the iPhone as a legitimate gaming platform, while Apple may offer some tactile function buttons.
First, let’s a few things straight. As for casual games, you can not beat that Apple has to offer. There are countless quick and easy games, which also correspond to the platform Apple. No download games for PSP 15 minutes you sit in the waiting room or while standing in line at New Delhi on the counter. Thus, although this section of the gaming market seems sealed, the same can be said of the more hardcore action / adventure and shooter games.
As it currently stands, the control of such games on your iPhone or IPod Touch is a disappointing mess. Players must navigate, using a virtual D-Pad, which is unable to ensure the accuracy or the physical sense of control PAD actual proposals on the PSP and DS. We are pleased to see how the Madden franchise and head Creed Assassin’s platform, we just wanted to better control these names. Until that day comes, Ipod Touch and iPhone games will be stuck under the glass ceiling, Shake, tilt and tapping.
There’s no denying that Apple has the upper hand here. Nobody wants to carry three devices when one can do everything. As we’ve written before, Apple could easily take on the portable gaming market with just a few steps. The first step towards this goal - whether it supplements or hardware changes - this is to add buttons.
