Screech to release a new iPhone app
The most significant upgrade opportunity to place the 140-character (read: chirrup length) “Board” in the iPhone, a brand new feature, which other members can give a Digg-like thumbs-up to. Most popular of them will eventually be put on that business’ review pages on yelp. In addition, the new is the “next” feed that is accessible and has recommended around you, as well as with their friends on the service. Yelp original iPhone app has been juiced with location awareness, but light on features - you can find out what was next and see what reviews have to say about it, but little else.
Another new feature: you can not publish the full yelp reviews of the updated iPhone applications, but can they project there and publish it to the PC interface later.
New Annex of the squeal is just a few days after News Corp. ‘S MySpace announced a potentially strong competitor yelp. Called MySpace Local, that, in partnership with the MAC of the city - which is still the biggest name in business surveys. Although MySpace has no local mobile strategy in place, however, it is the road map.
And this is probably just a coincidence, but the shriek of a new app-tweet as “board” is the diversion of the five star scale reviews yelp that made famous, and which have recently been coming under the control of several companies who claim that they receive in gamed to attract new advertisers.
