Nokia launches Ovi beta development kit
Parts availability was announced on Thursday 09 Nokia World event in Stuttgart, Germany, along with the release of new application programming interface (API) for developers who want to integrate navigation capabilities of their application.
Development Ovi Software Kit, or SDK, is a web-based tools for developers, which allows them to create Web services and applications for phones to run one of Nokia, Smartphones two operating systems Symbian and Maemo.
Developers can build applications using standard web technologies such as CSS, HTML and JavaScript, as they can when writing WebOS for Palm or specification Bondi widget.
Ovi new Navigation Player API is designed for use alongside existing Ovi Player API Maps, according to the blog Nokia, and allows applications to guide the user destination.
