Moto goes green with Renew
Last year at CES Motorola dazzled us a pair of high-end multimedia mobile phones. One of them, Rokr E8, impressed us so much that it won CNET’s Best of CES award in the category of mobile phones. This year, however, moto, takes a more comprehensive approach, with three mobile phones, ranging from simple to complex.
On the simple side, Motorola introduced Renew W233. Her story is not that it offers - features are minimal - but in what it is. Renew is made entirely of recycled water bottles (at least, plastic parts). Moto is calling it the world’s first carbon neutral phone - that puts it outside the Nokia 3110, which is made of 50 percent recycled materials. Packaging is also earth friendly. Not only did Renew use less than 22 percent of the package, but the packaging, which makes use of recycled paper and ink to a benefit based on soybeans. Moto also promised that the modernization will use less power, has promised to talk time of nine hours.
Features include support for feature CrystalTalk, VGA camera, organizer features, and music player. Renew arrive at T-Mobile in the first quarter of this year.
