The website Android Guys reported late last week that Motorola is building a TV set top box for the Japanese phone and broadband service provider KDDI. The new device is expected to be ready in time for Japan’s largest Electronics Show, CEATEC, which will be held in October.

In the set top box called “AU Box” will enable users to take their music and videos with them on the go. The box enables users to reproduce or copy the CD and how to store music and transfer it to your mobile phone or portable media player via a USB cable, Android Guys reported. Music files can be played on the device through the Integrated stereo speakers.

Set-Top Box also allows users to upload video to the device and then transfer it to your mobile device. Also, the device plays the DVD.

Android, which is an open source operating system, originally developed by Google for mobile phones. But increasingly speak of more software is used in other devices like Netbooks, as well as set top boxes, televisions, voice over IP phones, digital frames and even karaoke machines.

Open Embedded Software Foundation (OESF), which consists of several Japanese companies that are planning to use Android in embedded devices, trying to strum the support for the use of software, no-phone device. ARM, KDDI, Japan Cable Laboratories, Alpine Electronics, and Fujitsu Software Technologies are among the members. These companies say they expect to show more Android devices at CEATEC nutrition autumn.
