Android 1,5 ‘S Live Folders: Looks nifty

Last week, Google Android tantalized developers with early versions of its software developers kit Android 1.5, the upcoming version of its mobile operating system. Included in this laundry list of new features out, many of them are suspiciously familiar to those in the Apple iPhone already has. But one, emphasized on Friday that the iPhone does not have: Live Folders.

freely lumped into the category of “more than the home screen widgets,” Live Folders in quick views into a folder on your phone, where you can view the entire contents of your e-books, e-mail, RSS-channels and playlists, for example, without running the application itself. Live Folders will also include real-time updates, so if a new e-mail comes in while you’re reading in the window of his home screen, you’ll see it appear.

Alive Folders feature can be posted on any third party app to load from the market, although it seems to lend itself best to the social, informational and entertainment content – I’m referring to your Netflix queue, Facebook status updates, video playback, and so furthermore.

It is not clear from the Android team blog, it is precisely this function will be displayed on the home screen, but Google tells us that the Live Folders will live in the house as a shortcut icon on the screen, the developers can make them read-only, or to give them to start the application in the list. For example, choose “favorite” to contact this folder will open up their records in the phone book.

Features Live will include a few basic Live folders that you started when Google Android 1,5 numbers of ships, like those in your list of contacts. The rest will depend on the developers.
